In 1970, a preeminent Soviet ballet company tours the West to showcase their elite dancers. During a performance of "Sleeping Beauty" in New York, a rising ballerina begins to suspect her brother of defecting.

TAKING DIRECTIONS As an actor, you wear your art on your sleeve. So when it comes to taking direction, it’s really hard not to take it personally. The way I like to think about it is: all of the choices I make are based on my interpretation of the story, which is valid because stories are subjective. Any direction I receive is based on the director’s interpretation of the story, which is also valid if slightly different to mine. The production itself will always be a compromise between everybody’s reading of the story, and the practical realities of budget and human resources. So next time you take direction, try not to take it personally. It’s just the director trying to help you see their version of the story.
I bet many of you can relate to a situation when the film is over and while you still feel it and the credits rolls down, many people start leaving the place. The credits are as important part of the film as the film itself. As an actor you MUST see them📝👀 The CREDITS are your source of network, source of people you plan to work with, source of your future projects. Plus, the credits are a perfect time to feel the film. STAY engaged STAY seated STAY to BE successful
So, remember, before you start, take three breaths and when they say “are you ready,” ask if you can have a minute. Take three breaths in and out, and look at your lines and then say, “OK, I’m ready.” When you have a lot of dialogue, prepare by learning all of your lines well as if you were learning a monologue. And if you do get lost, politely and respectfully ask to go again.
If you’re pursuing your passions, if you’re learning, and if you’re forging solid relationships, you’re probably on track to being successful. You’re always looking for a better way to do things You have a vision for the kind of life you want You’re open to failure You’re nice to people — even if they’re not your superiors You exhibit a ‘beginner’s mind’ You make time every day to learn You’re self-aware You show gratitude You’re self-compassionate YOU WILL SUCCEED 🎥❤️📺
